RC-Cornet® PLUS

The RC-Cornet® PLUS respiratory therapy device allows patients to come along Asthma, COPD and cystic fibrosis breathe easier.

Breathe easier with the RC-Cornet PLUS breathing therapy device

Chronic diseases of the lower respiratory tract lead to an increased formation of bronchial mucus. Shortness of breath, chronic cough and frequent respiratory infections are among the consequences.

The RC-Cornet® PLUS respiratory therapy device controls this: it generates an oscillating positive exhalation pressure (OPEP) when you exhale, widens the airways and reduces shortness of breath. It also effectively dissolves bronchial mucus and thus reduces coughing. When used, all of the exhaled air is used to clean the respiratory tract.

Breathing therapy with the RC-Cornet® PLUS leads to a noticeable improvement in the symptoms of patients with these chronic diseases of the lower respiratory tract after just a short, regular period of use:

Widen the airways and relieve shortness of breath

In setting 1 of the RC-Cornet® PLUS, a uniform exhalation pressure with vibrations is generated during exhalation (“stabilizing OPEP”). Constrictions are opened and parts of the alveoli are ventilated again. This reduces shortness of breath!

Dissolve secretions in persistently mucous bronchi

In setting 2 of the RC-Cornet® PLUS, a slowly increasing pressure is built up during exhalation, which then drops suddenly (“mobilizing OPEP”). This loosens stuck and viscous secretions from the bronchial walls and liquefies them. The mucus is then transported upwards, i.e. towards the mouth, and can be coughed up more easily.

Prevent exacerbations and reduce susceptibility to infections

By widening the airways and loosening stuck bronchial mucus, the cough becomes “productive” (promotes secretion) and can once again fulfill its cleansing function. As a result, the urge to cough is alleviated and the risk of respiratory infections and frequent hospital stays is reduced.<
